Janelle Cooper, RMT, NHPCEver since Janelle was littler (as she currently stands at a whopping 5’1”), the human body and all that it houses have fascinated her. She has always loved moving and exploring where her body can take her – whether it’s to the top of a mountain or to new heights in dance. Her body-based career began at age 15, when she became an aerobics instructor in her hometown of Labrador City. At 18, she hopped on a boat to Newfoundland and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics, English and Teaching English as a Second Language. During this time she remained dedicated to her body practices of aerobics, weight training and yoga. Upon graduating, she heard the call of the Wild West, moving to Edmonton, AB. Since then, she has been studying dance, movement therapy, music, culture, community and Massage Therapy. She is a registered massage therapist, certified Nia instructor, event planner and sometimes a performer. Freeing impingements and helping others create a healthy, expressive lifestyle is at the core of Janelle’s practice. |
